Devarakonda is an agriculture-dependent region, with a significant population of tribals and backward castes. Therefore, there is a pressing need to create alternative livelihood opportunities.
Despite the presence of the Krishna River adjacent to Devarakonda, the region faces water scarcity. The Congress Party initiated projects in the past to address this issue, but unfortunately, they were stalled by the BRS party. It is imperative now to complete these unfinished projects and fulfill the aspirations of Devarakonda residents.
Farmers in Devarakonda need to be introduced to cash crops, as they heavily rely on traditional crops. This initiative aims to expose local farmers to international standards and, simultaneously, introduce Devarakonda's agricultural produce to international markets.
Historically, the Devarakonda region holds great significance. Ruled by the Recharla Padma Nayaks, it is a land where Buddhism and Shaivism thrived. The region is rich in ancient relics, artifacts, and memories. Considering this, there is a need to transform the area into a tourist destination.
Devarakonda Khilla, with its historical remnants, should be developed into a tourist destination while preserving its historical significance.
Natural places such as Nagarjuna Sagar, Kacharajupally, and Vizag Colonies should be collectively transformed into tourist spots. This development not only contributes to the region's growth but also enhances the living standards of its residents.
Gajubedam, the naturally formed caves, must be protected and brought into the limelight.
The development of Devaracharla, Pogilla waterfalls, Yeleshwaram temples, etc., needs to be prioritized for comprehensive growth and enhancement of the region.
