Devender Naik comes from a family with a profound legacy of political and social service. His father, Mr. Vadhtya Shakru Naik, worked closely with Mr. Ravinder Naik, the former Minister in the combined Andhra Pradesh state under the Congress Government in 1982. Mr. Shakru Naik's efforts in traversing various tribal regions, advocating for tribal rights, and contributing to their inclusion in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category have left an indelible mark on the community. His dedication to public service, education, and social upliftment laid a strong foundation for Devender Naik's own political journey.
Inspired by his family's legacy of public service, Devender Naik entered politics in 2011 by joining the Indian National Congress (INC). Under the mentorship of MLA Balu Naik, he quickly distinguished himself with his hard work and commitment.
In 2014, Devender Naik was elected as the inaugural Chairperson of the newly established Devarakonda Municipality. His tenure was marked by transformative initiatives such as the Mission Bhagiratha Scheme, waste segregation programs, LED street lighting, and public gymnasiums, significantly improving residents' quality of life.
